“Training develops our skills, and along with them improves communication and cooperation during operations. Thanks to this, we can respond to fires immediately,” says one of the firefighters interviewed by the PCPM team in Sodo.
We also visited fire stations in Awassa and Dilla. In Awassa, Bartek Trzaska from PCPM’s Emergency Medical Team conducted training on how to use the newly delivered equipment. We also observed the results of previous projects, which have increased the motivation and skills of the personnel. Now, instead of 15 minutes, they are ready to respond within just 1 minute.
During these visits, PCPM monitors earlier trainings and equips units with gear – specialist clothing, helmets, boots, gloves, and balaclavas. Support from PCPM builds trust and continues a partnership that has lasted for many years.
